Clinical Validation of Histotype Px® Colorectal Selected for Poster Presentation at ESMO 2026

OSLO – October 22, 2026 –
DoMore Diagnostics, a leader in AI precision oncology, is pleased to announce that new data from a Dutch nationwide clinical validation study will be presented at the upcoming ESMO Congress 2026 in Madrid, October 23–27. The poster (#195P) will be presented on Sunday, October 25, 12:00–12:45 CET.

The study highlights the prognostic value of Histotype Px® Colorectal in patients with high-risk stage II (T4N0) and stage III colon cancer eligible for adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT), both in patients who received ACT according to clinical guidelines and in patients who did not and were treated with surgery alone. Conducted in collaboration with University Medical Center Utrecht and the Institute for Cancer Genetics and Informatics at Oslo University Hospital, this independent, nationwide prospective-retrospective validation study included 1,694 patients from the Netherlands Cancer Registry diagnosed between 2015 and 2019, of whom 1,101 received ACT and 593 were treated with surgery alone. Digital H&E slides were centrally scanned and analyzed, and statistical weighting was used to balance patient characteristics between the two treatment groups.

Histotype Px® Colorectal significantly stratified patients into distinct risk groups – Low, Intermediate, and High- both among patients who received ACT and those treated with surgery alone (p<0.0001), with 39.0% of all patients classified as low-risk, 37.8% as intermediate-risk and 23.2% as high-risk. In patients treated with surgery alone, the 5-year cancer-specific survival (CSS) was 88.6% in the low-risk group and 59.4% in the high-risk group (HR 4.1 [95% CI: 3.0–7.3]). In patients treated with ACT, the 5-year CSS was 94.1% and 73.2%, respectively (HR 5.3 [95% CI: 3.3–9.4]). Importantly, high-risk patients derived greater absolute benefit from ACT than low-risk patients: within five years from diagnosis, ACT was associated with a gain in restricted mean survival time of 8.0 months in the high-risk group, compared with 2.3 months in the low-risk group. These findings demonstrate the potential of Histotype Px® Colorectal as a readily available and affordable AI biomarker to support shared treatment decisions, identifying the patients who benefit most from ACT while supporting de-escalation of treatment in lower-risk patients.

Prof. Dr. Jeanine Roodhart, Professor and Medical Oncologist at Department of Medical Oncology, UMC Utrecht said: "In this study, we analysed patients who received ACT according to guidelines and a similar cohort of patients who did not, to assess the prognostic value of  Histotype Px® Colorectal in each of the cohorts and the potential benefit of ACT in each of the groups. The results show that the biomarker can risk stratify patients in both cohorts and that Histotype High Risk patients seem to benefit the most from ACT. By implementing biomarkers such as Histotype Px® Colorectal we may be able to spare many patients the burden of chemotherapy, while ensuring that patients who truly benefit from ACT are treated."

“Presenting these results at ESMO 2026 shows that AI-powered digital biomarkers are no longer a future promise. They are ready to change how cancer patients are diagnosed and treated today. Because Histotype Px® runs on digitized routine histology slides, it needs no extra tissue or additional lab work, so precision oncology can be scaled to every patient, not just a few. Ultimately, this is about patients: giving each patient and their oncologist a clearer picture of individual risk, so treatment can be intensified where it is beneficial and spared where it is not,” added Torbjørn Furuseth, CEO and Co-founder of DoMore Diagnostics

About DoMore Diagnostics

DoMore Diagnostics uses artificial intelligence to make personalized treatment decisions simple and accessible for all cancer patients. Our unique digital biomarkers predict patient outcomes from routine tumor tissue slides and can be seamlessly integrated into pathologists’ existing workflow. The lead product Histotype Px® Colorectal is a CE-IVDD marked outcome prediction marker for stage II and III colorectal adenocarcinoma that informs the decision of whether to provide adjuvant chemotherapy following surgical resection of the tumor.

DoMore Diagnostics has received funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator program and The Research Council of Norway.

About Colorectal Cancer and Histotype Px® Colorectal

Colorectal cancer is the third most common and second most deadly cancer but has seen little innovation in diagnostics and treatment in the last decades. Adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) may be provided after primary surgery to prevent the disease from recurring, however overtreatment is prevalent with up to 85% of patients with stage II and stage III not benefiting from ACT and only suffering side effects.

Histotype Px® is an advanced deep learning algorithm that analyzes digital histology slides, separating patients into distinct Low, Intermediate and High-risk groups to guide ACT treatment decisions. Data previously published in The Lancet and The Lancet Oncology showed that the test can accurately predict survival outcomes in colorectal cancer patients. Histotype Px® Colorectal was developed to provide clinicians with valuable information to guide personalized treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes.

Histotype Px is a registered trademark in the European Union. Trademark registration status may vary by country.
